AN EVENING OF ORGAN MUSIC

With Matthew Beetschen, the director of music at Dunblane Cathedral, will take place in St. John’s on Saturday 10th April at 7.30pm. Please keep this evening free – more details to follow.

AWAY GIVING FOR MARCH
The Charity chosen for March is ‘Friends of Carlton’. This Charity supports the Carlton Centre (Carlton Road, Sidcup) which helps those adults with a wide range of learning difficulties. Plans have now been approved for a new centre, and it is hoped that building will start later this year, with equipment needing to be purchased for the move. Please support this local charity.

EASTER ACTIVITY DAY
Come along to St John the Evangelist Church in Sidcup, and enjoy a range of Easter craft activities. For children aged 5 to 11 years old. Friday 2nd April 2010, 10.30am to 3pm. Parish Holiday
We are hoping to organise a parish holiday to Ashburnham Place, the Christian Centre in East Sussex from Monday 22nd August to Friday 26th Aug 2011. If you would be interested in joining us, please sign the form at the back of the church.

HELP!

BOUNDARIES- MEETING POINTS OR OBSTACLES
With ‘boundaries’ threatening to divide the Anglican Church the Revd. George Day, Vicar at St. Barnabas Joydens Wood, explores this subject in a talk at his church on Thursday 4th March at 8pm (coffee from 7.30). All are welcome to this ‘Affirming Catholicism’ meeting.

Taize Worship
Sunday 14th March at 6:30pm. A time to stop, a time to stand still, a time to reflect and a time to embrace silence. This worship will include the singing of Taize chants and a meditation focusing on Rembrandt’s beautiful painting “The Return of the Prodigal Son”. Please join us. Sue Twynam

FLOWER FESTIVAL
There will be a flower festival taking place in St. John’s the weekend of September 17th – 19th. If you would like to do an arrangement or know of anybody or organisation who would, please take a letter from the back of the church.

CONFIRMATION 2010
St. John’s will be joining the Sidcup Deanery Confirmation to take place at Rochester Cathedral on Sunday 23rd May at 3.15pm. If you are not confirmed and would like to consider taking this step, please speak to Stephen or Sue.

COFFEE MORNING
The next coffee morning is on Wednesday 24th March from 10.15 – 11.45am. All welcome.
